PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:

LIGHTWEIGHT PLASTER MIX is an interior patching material ideal for filling large, damaged areas in plaster and concrete surfaces.  It can be troweled to a smooth surface, making it ideal for new construction as well as repair work.

USES:

▸   As a base for acoustical tile

INSTALLATION:

Surface Preparation:
Surfaces to be repaired must be structurally sound, clean and free of dust, dirt, oils, paints and all other contaminants that will prevent proper bond.  Remove all loose and defective materials from area to be repaired.  Thoroughly moisten all surfaces of repair area including edges of the area.

Mixing:
Add 2 parts of LIGHTWEIGHT PLASTER MIX to 1 part clean water, which will give a workable consistency.  Mix only the amount that can be used in 45 minutes.  Do not rewet any unused mix after it has been mixed once.

Placement:
For thicknesses up to ⅜", apply material in 1 coat.  For greater thicknesses, use multiple coats, making sure that the final coat is at least ⅛" thick.  Allow first coat to dry at least 2 hours before applying second coat.  Dampen first coat before applying second coat.  Level surface before finishing.  Let set for approximately 30 minutes before final troweling.  For a smooth finish, use a steel trowel, which should be kept clean and damp.  For a rough finish a sponge or a damp brush is ideal.

Curing:
LIGHTWEIGHT PLASTER MIX is self-curing.

Coverage:
1 pound covers approximately 1 square foot at 3/16" thick.

Packaging:
Available in 25 pound multiwall paper bags with moisture barrier.

Complies with Federal Specification SS-P-00402B Type I, and ASTM C28 for gypsum ready-mixed plaster.

LIMITATIONS:

Not recommended for use with radiant heated panels, nor for use over metal lath where a smooth trowel lime finish is to be used.

CAUTION:

Contains Calcium Sulfate.  If ingested, may result in obstruction.  If ingested, induce vomiting using large quantities of milk and call physician immediately.  Avoid inhalation.  Use only with adequate ventilation.

If affected by inhalation, get fresh air immediately.  To avoid possible burns or irritation, avoid eye and skin contact by wearing safety glasses and rubber gloves.  In case of eye contact, flush thoroughly with water and get prompt medical attention.  In case of skin contact, wash thoroughly with soap and water.  If irritation persists, consult a physician.  Keep Out Of Reach Of Children.

Due to the use of this product beyond our control, we assume no liability for damages of any kind, and the user accepts the product "as is" and without warranties, expressed or implied, from either Empire Blended Products or its agents.  The suitability of the product for an intended use shall be solely up to the user.  Our only obligation shall be to replace or pay for any material proved defective, with our liability limited to the purchase price of materials supplied by us.
