PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:
ROAD PATCH is a Portland Cement based concentrate which is designed to be mixed with local sand and stone to produce a high quality repair material. This unique formulation develops high early strength with zero shrinkage and excellent durability. Road Patch meets ASTM C-928 for dry packaged rapid hardening cementitious materials for concrete repair.
USES:
- Repair highways, roads and bridges
- Repair parking decks and ramps
- Repair commercial concrete floors or any concrete surface
ADVANTAGES:
- Economical to use due to utilization of local sand and stone
- Sets within 20 minutes
- Non-shrink
- High compressive, flexural and bond strength
- Excellent freeze-thaw resistance
APPLICATION:
Surface Preparation:
Mark off damaged areas and make a 2" vertical cut with a masonry saw or other suitable equipment around the perimeter of the damaged areas. Remove all debris within the cut area, as well as grease, dirt and loose or unsound concrete from areas to be patched. It is important to have all the damaged areas prepared before mixing the material, because the mixing, placement and finishing should be accomplished in a very short time. Wet the area to be patched with water, to prevent water from being drawn from ROAD PATCH. However, do not leave free-standing water in the cavity.
Mixing:
ROAD PATCH is designed to be mixed in the ratio of 50 pounds ROAD PATCH, 100 pounds of clean, washed silica sand, 100 pounds of clean, washed d" stone and 2 gallons of clean water. Place all sand, stone and b of the mixing water in a clean mixer. Add the ROAD PATCH while mixing and mix until the ROAD PATCH has been thoroughly blended in. Slowly add the remaining water to bring the mix to a good trowelable consistency. A slump of 4" ‑ 6" is recommended. Do not mix more material than can be placed in 15 minutes.
Placement:
Place ROAD PATCH in the repair area and level the mix to the surrounding pavement with an appropriate screeding device. Allow material to stiffen and finish to desired texture using a broom, brush or trowel.
Curing:
Under normal conditions, ROAD PATCH is self‑curing. Under hot, windy conditions, a curing membrane may be required to prevent surface dry out. Allow material to develop strength for at least 1 hour after set before allowing traffic to resume over patched area.
Coverage:
When mixed in the recommended ratio, one 50 pound bag of ROAD PATCH will yield 2 cubic feet.
Packaging:
Available in 50 pound multiwall paper bags with moisture barrier and 2,000 pound bulk bags.
Color:
Light gray
LIMITATIONS:
Do not apply to frozen surfaces or if temperature will fall below 40EF within 24 hours.
