Floor Resurfacing | Self-Leveling Pour A Floor
MANUFACTURER: Empire Blended Products, Inc. PRODUCT DESCRIPTION: POUR A FLOOR is a revolutionary self-leveling floor resurfacer designed to resurface and level uneven concrete floors. POUR A FLOOR becomes a liquid cement compound that can be poured or pumped, dramatically saving time and labor over conventional underlayments. This product requires no troweling, and can be applied from a featheredge to 2" thickness in one pour. USES:
Surface Preparation: The quality of the topping job is primarily dependent upon exacting surface preparation and priming. It is mandatory that these procedures be completed with the utmost care. Surfaces to be coated must be free of dirt, dust, debris, paints, oils, waxes, sealers and any contaminants that will interfere with proper bond. Mechanical abrasion may be required for concrete floors which have been sealed or previously coated with mastics or adhesives, or for non-absorbent surfaces such as terrazzo and ceramic tile. Fill any deep holes or depressions to existing floor elevation with a suitable polymer modified patching material, such as EMPIRE BLENDED PATCH IT. Extend existing expansion and control joints in the concrete through the underlayment. Seal all perimeter openings to prevent leakage. These dams should be able to retain POUR A FLOOR to a height equal to or greater than the finished floor elevation. On wood floors, be certain to nail down all loose flooring and fill any joints with EMPIRE BLENDED FLOOR PATCH. Corrosion resistant expanded metal lath must be securely fastened to entire area to be covered. All wooden flooring should be of a design and thickness so as to maintain a substrate of deflection not to exceed 1/360 of the span including live and dead load. Dampen all surfaces, being careful not to allow any standing water to remain. Prime with EMPIRE BLENDED EM-BOND C at full strength with a roller, brush or spray, in such a manner as to produce a uniform coating. Absorbent or porous concrete, as well as all wooden floors require two applications of EM-BOND C. Primed surfaces must be tacky and damp to the touch as POUR A FLOOR is being applied. Test patches are always recommended. Place the test patch with the same tools and procedures as will be used in the actual construction. Install a minimum of 50 square feet in a high traffic area. Allow the test patch to cure at least 3 days before inspecting. POUR A FLOOR will not correct or compensate for a structurally defective substrate. Faults in the substrate can appear in the underlayment. CAUTION: Contains Portland Cement CAS #65997-15‑1. Freshly mixed cement products may cause skin injury. Avoid contact with skin where possible and wash exposed areas promptly with water.
