PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:

ACE-CRETE SAND MIX is a single component product, consisting of Portland Cement (ASTM C-150, Type 1A) and graded sand (ASTM C-33), scientifically blended to a uniform mixture and packaged at our manufacturing facility in Bayville, New Jersey.  ACE-CRETE SAND MIX meets and exceeds the requirements of ASTM C-387, latest revision, and Federal Quality Standard USCE CRD-C-74.

USES:

• Repairing wide cracks in concrete and masonry
• Topping mix 2” and under
• Raise interior floors prior to tiling (mud job)
• Interior or Exterior, above or below grade
• Concrete floors, driveways, walkways, steps and patios
• Curbs and Ramps
• Filling masonry block cores

INSTALLATION:

Surface Preparation:
Surfaces to be coated must be structurally sound, clean and free of dust, dirt, oils, paints and all other contaminants that will prevent proper bond.  If the area is heavily soiled, EMPIRE BLENDED RAINBOW TRI SODIUM PHOSPHATE (not for
sale in New York) is an excellent heavy duty cleaner to use.  Area to be covered should be damp prior to application.  The use of EMPIRE BLENDED EM-BOND C is recommended where increased bond is desired. Apply as directed on container.  For applications 1" and less, EMPIRE BLENDED EM-CRYL 600 added to the mixing water will increase bond and density.

Mixing:
Place material in a clean, suitable container (bucket, mixing box, wheelbarrow or concrete mixer).  For each 15 pounds of material use approximately 1 quart of mixing liquid.  Add : of the mixing liquid, and then blend in the dry ingredients.  Mix until all liquid is absorbed.  This will be a very stiff mix and will allow the addition of more liquid to the mix without overwatering.  Add the balance of liquid to achieve a smooth, lump free and fully wetted mix.  Allow the mix to rest and absorb all liquid for 2-3 minutes.  Remix and apply.

 

Placement:
Force mixed material into place and finish with a float or steel trowel.  Choice of tool used in finishing is determined by the finish desired.  A mason's brush or broom pulled across the top after floating or troweling will provide a slip resistant surface.

Curing:
Moist cure in exterior applications.  This is best achieved by covering with burlap kept moist for 2-3 days.  If EMPIRE BLENDED EM-CRYL 600 is used in the mixing liquid, it is self-curing.

Coverage:
An 80 pound bag will yield approximately b (0.66) cubic foot.  Each 10 pounds of material yields approximately 1 square foot, 1" thick (1' x 1' x 1").

Packaging:
Available in 40 pound, 55 pound and 80 pound multi-ply, recyclable paper bags.

Color:
Cement gray.  EMPIRE BLENDED RAINBOW CEMENT COLORS may be added to achieve a colored finish, at the rate of 1 pound per 80 pound bag.

Meets or exceeds the requirements of ASTM C‑387

LIMITATIONS:

Do not apply to frozen surfaces or if temperature will fall below 40EF within 24 hours.

CAUTION:

Contains Portland Cement CAS #65997-15‑1.  Freshly mixed cement products may cause skin injury.  Avoid contact with skin where possible and wash exposed areas promptly with water.  If any product gets into the eye, rinse immediately and repeatedly with water.  If ingested, do not induce vomiting and get prompt medical attention. Also contains Sand CAS #14808-60-7.  Avoid breathing dust.  Prolonged exposure to dust may cause delayed lung injury (silicosis) or cancer IARC Class 2A.  Wear NIOSH approved mask for silica dust.  Keep Out Of Reach Of Children.

WARRANTY:

Due to the use of this product beyond our control, we assume no liability for damages of any kind, and the user accepts the product "as is" and without warranties, expressed or implied, from either Empire Blended Products or its agents.  The suitability of the product for an intended use shall be solely up to the user.  Our only obligation shall be to replace or pay for any material proved defective, with our liability limited to the purchase price of materials supplied by us.
