PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:

SEAL MASONRY COATING is a waterproof masonry coating containing Portland Cement, sized aggregates and waterproofing additives.  Intended to be used as a brush-on coating for block, brick, concrete and stone, it will waterproof from the interior wall even under instances of hydrostatic pressure, as well as waterproof from the exterior side of the wall.  Easy to apply, SEAL MASONRY COATING waterproofs, protects and beautifies masonry and concrete on old and new construction, interior or exterior, above or below grade.

INSTALLATION:

Surface Preparation: 
All surfaces to be coated must be clean and structurally sound.  Chip, wire brush, sand blast, or high pressure wash the substrate to remove all foreign matter, dust, dirt, oils, paints, grease, mold, mildew, efflorescence, water soluble materials such as calcimine, or other coatings that will inhibit bond.  If necessary, use a high strength cleaning solution, such as RAINBOW TRI SODIUM PHOSPHATE, and then rinse thoroughly.  Any acid based product, such as RAINBOW DRY ACID CRYSTALS used before application must be completely neutralized.  Cracks under 1/16", loose or spalled mortar joints, marks from forms, or spalled areas should be patched utilizing EMPIRE BLENDED PATCH IT or EMPIRE BLENDED PATCH ALL, and allowed to cure for 2 hours before coating.  If active water leaks or general seepage exists, they should be treated with EMPIRE BLENDED STOP IT.  Dampen substrate to receive SEAL MASONRY COATING prior to application.  Surface should be kept damp ahead of application at all times.

Mixing: 
SEAL MASONRY COATING may be mixed by hand or by using a drill mixer mounted on a low speed drill (400-600 RPM).  On new or untreated masonry or concrete, mix contents of bag with 7-8 quarts of water.  On all other surfaces, replace 3 of the water with EMPIRE BLENDED EM-CRYL 600 acrylic fortifier, being careful to premix the EM-CRYL 600 and water before adding it to the dry material.  If hand mixing, add the liquid to the powder.  If mixing mechanically, add powder to the liquid while blending.  Mix to a smooth batter like slurry, ensuring a lump-free, evenly dispersed mix.  Allow to stand for 5 minutes, then remix.  Additional mixing liquid can be added at this time. 

During application, remix as necessary to keep
material from segregating.

Placement: 
Apply SEAL MASONRY COATING with a natural bristle masonry brush, using irregular strokes and working the material into the pores of the wall.  Finish the coat with smooth horizontal strokes.  Allow to cure for 12-24 hours and apply the second coat.  On block or brick walls, allow 5-7 days between coats to eliminate joints showing through.  Finish second coat with smooth vertical strokes to facilitate easy cleaning.

Curing: 
SEAL MASONRY COATING is self-curing when EM-CRYL 600 is used in the mixing liquid, under normal conditions.  In conditions of extreme heat, dry or windy conditions, a light mist of water may be applied after initial set and only on the day of application.  Mixes without EM-CRYL 600 must be lightly misted every 2-4 hours after initial set on the day of application.

Coverage: 
One bag will cover approximately 225 square feet on the first coat, and approximately 450 square feet on the finish coat.

Packaging: 
Available in 50 pound multiwall paper bags with moisture barrier.

Colors: 
Available in white and gray.  However, a wide variety of colors can be achieved by mixing with RAINBOW CEMENT COLORS.

LIMITATIONS:

Do not apply to frozen surfaces or if temperature will fall below 40EF within 24 hours.

CAUTION:

Contains Portland Cement CAS #65997-15‑1.  Freshly mixed cement products may cause skin injury.  Avoid contact with skin where possible and wash exposed areas promptly with water.  If any product gets into the eye, rinse immediately and repeatedly with water.  If ingested, do not induce vomiting and get prompt medical attention. Also contains Sand CAS #14808-60-7.  Avoid breathing dust.  Prolonged exposure to dust may cause delayed lung injury (silicosis) or cancer IARC Class 2A.  Wear NIOSH approved mask for silica dust.  Keep Out Of Reach Of Children.

WARRANTY:

Due to the use of this product beyond our control, we assume no liability for damages of any kind, and the user accepts the product "as is" and without warranties, expressed or implied, from either Empire Blended Products or its agents.  The suitability of the product for an intended use shall be solely up to the user.  Our only obligation shall be to replace or pay for any material proved defective, with our liability limited to the purchase price of materials supplied by us.
