PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:

WATER REPELLENT CEMENT PAINT is a Portland Cement based paint with added water repellent agents.  It is designed as a brush on coating for interior or exterior porous cement and masonry surfaces to produce both a protective as well as a decorative coating.

USES:

INSTALLATION:

Surface Preparation:
Surfaces to be coated must be structurally sound and free of loose dirt, debris, paints, oils and contaminants that will interfere with proper bond.  Previously painted surfaces must be sandblasted or waterblasted to remove all paint from the surface to be coated.  Cracks larger than 1/16", broken mortar joints or spalled areas should be repaired using EMPIRE BLENDED PATCH IT.  The PATCH IT should be allowed to cure for at least 2 hours before applying WATER REPELLENT CEMENT PAINT.  If active water leaks or general seepage exists, repair these areas with EMPIRE BLENDED STOP IT.  If active seepage is present, weep holes may be drilled in the wall at the floor line.  Dampen the wall thoroughly before applying WATER REPELLENT CEMENT PAINT and maintain dampness ahead of application.  After WATER REPELLENT CEMENT PAINT has been allowed to cure for 48 hours, patch the weep holes with STOP IT.  Paint over the weep holes with WATER REPELLENT CEMENT PAINT. 

Mixing:
In a clean container, add WATER REPELLENT CEMENT PAINT to clean water in the ratio of 10 pounds of material for every 2½ quarts of water.  Stir until mixture is free from lumps, then thin with 2½ quarts of additional clean water for brush on application.  Allow mix to stand for 15 minutes, remix and apply.  When coating extremely dense surfaces such as precast concrete, stone or granite, replace 1 gallon of water with 1 gallon of EMPIRE BLENDED EM-CRYL 600 per 50 pound bag of WATER REPELLENT CEMENT PAINT for increased adhesion.  WATER REPELLENT CEMENT PAINT can be tinted with any RAINBOW CEMENT COLOR to produce a coating of any color.  Always dry mix WATER REPELLENT CEMENT PAINT and RAINBOW CEMENT COLOR before adding to water.

Placement:
For rough surfaces, apply with a masonry brush or a stiff fiber brush using irregular strokes to fill as many pores and voids as possible.  Two coats are recommended for most applications.  Allow first coat to dry at least 4 hours before applying second coat.  The second coat can be applied using a whitewash brush.

Curing:
Keep surface damp for 4 hours after application to achieve maximum bond and strength.

Packaging:
Available in 25 pound and 50 pound multiwall paper bags with moisture barrier.

TECHNICAL DATA:

WATER REPELLENT CEMENT PAINT meets Federal Specification TT-P-21 Type II, Class A and B.

LIMITATIONS:

Do not apply on surfaces that have been previously painted.  Do not apply to frozen surfaces or if temperature will fall below 40̊F within 24 hours.

CAUTION:

Contains Portland Cement CAS #65997-15-1 and Lime CAS #1305-62-0.  Freshly mixed cement products may cause skin injury.  Avoid contact with skin where possible and wash exposed areas promptly with water.  If any product gets into the eye, rinse immediately and repeatedly with water and seek prompt medical attention.  If ingested do not induce vomiting and get prompt medical attention.  Keep Out Of Reach Of Children.

WARRANTY:

Due to the use of this product beyond our control, we assume no liability for damages of any kind, and the user accepts the product "as is" and without warranties, expressed or implied, from either Empire Blended Products or its agents.  The suitability of the product for an intended use shall be solely up to the user.  Our only obligation shall be to replace or pay for any material proved defective, with our liability limited to the purchase price of materials supplied by us.
