INSTALLATION:
Surface Preparation:
All sub surfaces must be prepared in a manner consistent with all good concrete pouring practices and local laws.
Mixing:
RAINBOW INTEGRAL COLOR FOR CONCRETE is pre-measured to be used in the ratio of 1 bag of pre-measured color per 1 standard yard of concrete (6 sack mix design), unless otherwise stated. Do not open the bags. Simply toss the disintegrating bag into the mixer. We recommend a 5" or less slump for best color results. Allow the drum to rotate at charging speed for 10 minutes or 120 revolutions to fully disperse pigment. In colder temperatures we recommend the use of Empire Blended Non-Chloride All Temp to protect against freezing while eliminating additional efflorescence. Never use calcium chloride in concrete which is to be colored. Consistent color can only be achieved by using the same sand, cement, aggregates, water content and mixing time for the color. Differences in colors of cement, sand, aggregates and volume of water in the mix can alter the finished color.
Placement and Finishing:
Variations in placing, finishing and curing methods used will also affect the final color. A job-site sample or test slab is recommended using the same materials and methods that will be used for the project. Once placing has begun, do not add water to the mixing drum, it will affect color. After placing and floating, no further finishing should be performed until bleed water has evaporated, after which final finishing can take place. Maintain consistent finishing techniques and avoid hard and over troweling for the most uniform color results. Water should never be added to the surface of concrete as it will weaken and discolor it. When broom finishing concrete, care should be taken to shake off any water that may be left on the broom after rinsing. Finishing techniques should be consistent.
Curing:
Never use plastic sheeting to cure colored concrete as it will mottle and streak the surface. Curing paper or a quality non-yellowing UV stable curing compound should be used. Take care to ensure any curing compound you use will be compatible with any additional sealers that may be applied in the future.
Coverage:
The addition of RAINBOW INTEGRAL COLOR FOR CONCRETE does not alter the yield of a standard cubic yard of concrete.
Packaging:
RAINBOW INTEGRAL COLOR FOR CONCRETE is pre-packaged in disintegrating bags, pre-measured for 1 cubic yard of concrete (6 sacks per yard) eliminating the mess and inaccuracy associated with the handling of loose colorants.

RAINBOW INTEGRAL COLOR FOR CONCRETE is available in 48 stock colors, available for immediate shipment. Eight of the stock colors shown on our color chart can be used to create a total of 24 colors as shown by varying the dosage from 1 bag to 2 cubic yards, 1 bag per cubic yard and 2 bags per cubic yard.
